What does domain stand for?

A domain is the name of a terminal or website on the internet. Actually every terminal on the internet has a specific number, a so called ip-address. The ip-address is a numeric code and it is hard to be noticed. To make the ip-address easier to note, domain names are given.

Ip-addresses are very hard to memorize, so every ip-address is assigned to a synonym. These synonyms are called domain names. With the help of DNS the processor will retransfer the domain back to its ip-address.
